The Holywood Road, Belfast (2)
See J3775 : The Holywood Road, Belfast. The view from opposite Gelstons Corner down towards the Arches J3674 : The Holywood Arches, Belfast (1). The Strand J3774 : The Strand cinema, Belfast is just out of picture on the right. This part of the road seems to have been laid out and developed towards the end of the 19th century. The part behind me (and including that in the previous photo), while it existed before WW1, was not a broad thoroughfare, was semi-rural and consisted mainly very large villas which were later sold and built over to become todays suburbia.
