Carrying the original main road west from Keswick, now the B5289, and now replaced by a new bridge just to the north taking the A66 west to Cockermouth.

Not many straights on the B5289 but there is this one between Seatoller and Rosthwaite. The end of the Borrowdale Fells on near right and the craggy tops of the various moderate fells behind Stonethwaite/Rosthwaite behind on the left.

Pre-worboys sign on the junction of St. John's Street and Derwent Street, Keswick. The latter, leads to Lake Road which was the old route of the B5289 in Keswick.
