Original A74 route, north of Abington
The stretch to the left of the house was part of the original route, but now forms a link from the 1960s A74 to the rest of the B740 to Crawfordjohn. To the right of the house and over the bridge is no longer open to the public, presumably reverting to the farmer concerned.
