Start of the D1+2 southbound. An odd feature here is on the northbound carriageway - the inside lane has arrows on the carriageway ( and signs) indicating moving into the outside lane to continue....this does seem inappropriate and the would be safer to have the outside lane merging into the inside one.

Looking down ship street to recently installed lights, new relief rd Right at lights. Notice the white lane dots. Junction was uncontrolled before.

Note: turn right is in the centre of the pedestrian controlled lights zone. The original listed houses on the Left were demolished by mistake when the relief road was constructed... they had to be rebuilt but lack the bow fronted shop windows amongst other features.

Before the lights there were very few congestion problems, it is now commonplace to take 10 mins or more to pass past this set from bridge st.
