Looking west, near Madingley, with the junction with the A1303 in the distance.
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Sep 27, 2006 by Sunil_of_YoxleyLooking west near Madingley, showing the A1303 junction off-slip crossing the A428 mainline. Just visible are blue signs westbound which presumably show 'end of dual carriageway ahead'. Both the A428 and A1303 were previously the A45 in ages past.

This used to be the A45 until the early '90s, as well as the entire dual carriageway to Felixstowe. Now the section east of M11 J14 (Girton, only a couple of mile east of here) is A14.

On A1309 Milton Road, Cambridge, near the roundabout with the A1134 Ring Road. As you can see, I had to take the picture from near 90 degrees!

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Oct 04, 2006 by Sunil_of_YoxleyA forest of 'no entry' signs on St Philip's Road, Cambridge (looking W from Thoday St). This is only a small fraction of the total number on this street.
The street is effectively one-way for motor traffic with a cycle contraflow. However, for some reason it isn't explicitly signed as such - it's theoretically two-way between the junctions, hence the need for no-entry signs at each of the junction 'plugs'. Complete waste.
