Cardiff traffic lights - unusual sequencing - Coppermine - 16244.jpg
Cardiff traffic lights - unusual sequencing

Protected right turn lights turn off completely when the main lights turn green, showing a green ball, meaning all traffic can proceed also right turners must give way to oncoming traffic. The right turn lights switch on when main lights turn red. This is so far unique to the city of Cardiff.

In this pic the main lights are on green while the right turn lights are switched off.
