Approaching J2a of the M4 on the R449

Note the error in the roundabout pictogram-no gap between last exit and approach road! The unnamed exid leads to Hewlett Packard. You can see many of the small differences between irish and UK signage in this one in the background too! Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Feb 06, 2006 by murphaph

This is now M4 J6

Entry to motorway sign

Photo taken at J2a on the M4. I'm not sure but I think the (N5-N6) should be patched in green according to the irish traffic signs manual, as this sign is not on a motorway mainline. The HGV route is there because HGVs are prohibited from passing through the towns of Leixlip and Maynooth and must access the motorway to bypass these towns. This entire junction was primarily built to allow direct motorway access to the large plants belonging to Hewlett Packard and Intel which are very close by.
