N8 southern end of Cashel bypass

Contraflow here due to the Cashel - Michelstown HQDC scheme. A grade-separated junction is being constructed here to replace the roundabout that was the former southern terminus of the N8 Cashel bypass. This roundabout only lasted from October 2004 to about March 2006 before it was dug up. N1/A1 upgrade at Ravensdale

Traffic has been diverted off the old N1 and down what will eventually be a slip road for the Ravensdale junction. The old N1 has been subsumed to the left of the pic. Looking north 30.06.2006.

Contraflow. I managed to set the information display in our hire car to Imperial - we're showing an average speed of 60 mph.

'Classic' Contraflow, Leyland

This was a real throwback to a 'less is more' era of roadworks - no Varioguard, a 50mph speed limit, and no enforcement. Traffic did about 45mph in this direction.
