How the 1982 Collins Atlas showed progress with the Ipswich bypasses. The A12 still runs through Copdock, only the southern part of Ipswich is bypassed, route number not shown, and A12 to A45 North traffic has to follow the A1100 to Claydon.
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Feb 18, 2007 by BobSykes The A12 is a 129 mile long trunk road from London to Great Yarmouth. It runs through Greater London, Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk. It passes by Brentwood, Colchester and Ipswich as well as passing through Lowestoft.

More arrows - but ahead lies the bridge carrying the A14 over the former northbound A12. The bridge crosses the old alignment on the skew, so this end is the n/b but at the other end we are on the s/b
