A �2 million pound cycle track has been built (at the last minute) for the Mountain Bike & Trials World Championships being held at Nevis Range. As part of this the traffic lights at the junction of the A82 and A830 at Lochy Bridge have been replaced by a temporary mini-roundabout with a temporary Puffin crossing a short distance on the town side of the junction. Several bridges have been built as part of the track.

This is the end of the abandoned section from Balloch to Cameron House. It narrows here to become the cyclepath, the existing A82 being on the other side of the trees to the left.

South of Luss. Although not immediately apparent, this is the old A82 alignment. The clue is the wall, and the alignment which is about the right width. Despite being resurfaced as a cyclepath, the vegetated area to the right is flat before rising to the new road embankment

Clear evidence of S4 being converted into S2 plus excellent cycle path (although some cyclists still choose to use the road!!). If you look carefully, you might be able to see the old road markings - at least I could when I was there.

This is the cycle lane alongside the A77 alongside the new M77. There can be no doubt about what this used to be! :)

This is the old A77, now very quiet because of the new M77. It has been converted from S4 to S2 with an excellent cycle path :)
