To use France's generally excellent motorways you literally pay a heavy price - which is sadly not reduced in the rain! Near here a relatively new link road to Saarbruecken (French: Sarrebruck) has eased traffic flow somewhat. I chose, in fact, to get to Germany via Haguenau.

This little bridge still is a bottleneck in the A2 but within a few years the traffic can move on as the road get widened from 2x2 to 2x4 lanes. This little old bridge will gone by then.
