Pointless bit of bus lane in the heart of Edinburgh city centre. All service buses using Lothian Rd use the stop (where the picture is taken from), then turn right onto Princess St. It means as soon as buses leave the stop they need to get over to the right, and leave the bus lane empty (or for law breakers!)

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Jun 21, 2006 by Simon A6(M)This is the end of the A1 in Edinburgh, at the very end of Princes Street. I was very excited to stumble on to this landmark in Edinburgh, even more so when I discovered the A7 and A8 ended here as well!

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Oct 11, 2009 by SDLIn 2007 the road junction was re engineered with a roundabout being replaced by a light controlled junction. As a result getting onto Milton Road from the new A1 is easier, but going from the A1 to the Sir Harry Lauder Road to Leith usually involves some queuing. The red sign refers to a similar project at a roundabout in Seafield.
