Fantasy Road Layouts
This is part of a bigger scheme to create a high-quality dual carriageway route from the M6 at Stoke to the M53 at Chester. The section between the current roundabout on the A500 with the A531 and A5020, and the M6 junction, has been dualled and this whole section of the route has been grade-separated. M6 J16 is now a three-level junction with the A500 mainline passing underneath. Also, the new A5020 Crewe Green Link Road has been included and the old road is shown as being declassified.
The A37 has been rerouted via Wells, Glastonbury and Street (A39/B3139) with several adjustments to other nearby roads - the A367 is extended to Ilchester, and the A357 now takes over the A371 from Wincanton and Shepton Mallet before ending on the A37 near Farrington Gurney.
My version of the proposed M1/M50 interchange
I'm not very keen the actual proposed plans for the M1/M50 interchange which involves building just a couple of bridges over the existing roundabout interchange that to continue on the M50 either way you'll need to turn off to stay on.
I think the M50 should continue by bypassing this interchange heading south to the Port Tunnel and the M1 to start/end on the M50 that the M50 is supposed to be the Dublin 'Orbital' Motorway but look at Manchester's M60 at one point you still have to turn off to stay on...
