Isolated height restriction sign - Coppermine - 21495.jpeg
Isolated height restriction sign

This sign prevents vehicles higher than 13'6' from approaching a railway bridge on Shotton Lane between Ewloe and Shotton. A lorry would be unable to turn around between here and a farm driveway several hundred yards behind me, so is not much of a warning. The whole thing is S1 with a weight restriction (the tarmac in the far right is a passing place), so lorries are likely to be fortunately rare.

Cycle instruction

This sign (under Hawarden Castle Bridge) demonstrates an innovative use of a 'no cycling' sign to give miscellaneous advice.

Narrow bridge sign - Coppermine - 18461.jpeg
Narrow bridge sign

A narrow bridge (between Cilcain and Pantymwyn, I think). I wonder how wide the bridge is if you are driving a tractor...

Flintshire Bridge from the South Bank of the River Dee - Geograph - 411500.jpg
Flintshire Bridge from the South Bank of the River Dee Viewed from the south bank of the River Dee the design of the Flintshire Bridge echoes the shape of the many electricity pylons in the area. There had been no recent rain when I took this photo, so the pools of water indicate that the tide can sometimes reach this higher bank.
