Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Jun 28, 2006 by scynthius726B2244, the former A229, approaching the vintage GSJ at Cripp's Corner from the north. Although it followed a Roman road between Hawkhurst and Sedlescombe the A229 was rerouted to join the A21 further north at Hurst Green due to a number of pinch points on an otherwise fairly fast alignment. The narrow overbridge, carrying the B2089, at Cripp's Corner is one of them. Taken 4th June 2008.

The B6267 has seen major changes at its junction with the A1 which is currently being upgraded to a six lane motorway. On the Sinderby side of the A1 the B6267 has been moved to the east by some 300m to allow room for the motorway development.
Looking east along the bypass, opened about 1970. Taken from the junction recently improved for the new Solstice Park Services and business park. Top of the hill in the distance is the same summit visible from Quarley Hill.
