Hook Road
Plan of the future major road network for Cardiff following Buchanan's second Transportation Study Report for the city. The map dates from April 1968 and shows how the road network would look by 2001.
The numbers in red show the number of houses affected by each section with a total of 3386 affected by the entire network.
Plan of the unbuilt Hook Road in Cardiff from the early 1970s.
Layout of Splott and Adamsdown Interchanges as part of the unbuilt Hook Road in Cardiff. The two junctions would effectively work as one due to their close proximity to one another. The slip roads in grey were deleted from plans early on as it was predicted they would see little traffic. This meant a new junction could be built at Newport Road without any weaving issues.
