The cycle lane here is quite useful. The problem is whichever moron put a direction sign directly behind a bollard on two foot poles.

Many Leeds radials used to have these, most memorably the A63 up Halton Hill and the A660 through Headingley. These few cling on at Calverley Street, near the University campus

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Apr 30, 2005 by M4SimonI think I mentioned this wonder at the Awayday. It's incorrectly designed and fabricated, uses the wrong fonts, symbols and materials (not retroreflective), and is placed a foot lower than its lamp on the pole. Genius.
