This stub of the original alignment diverges from the 1960s alignment near Nether Howcleugh, and drops down to the railway bridge there.

ROI new No Through Road sign in Kerry - Coppermine - 11538.jpg
ROI new No Through Road sign in Kerry

Ireland has only recently adopted this sign, the same as the UK/international one but on a white background instead of blue. This from Portmagee, Co Kerry. Previously a rectangular sign reading 'CUL DE SAC' was used.

Early pre-Worboys no through road, Whitton - Coppermine - 23336.JPG
Early pre-Worboys no through road, Whitton

On Crane Park Road is an earlier type of no through road, complete with (partially painted over) catseyes and earlier font with a G with a tail. Although the flat 3 and plain capital G are typical pre-Worboys MOT font it is the latest one, and the earlier one has rounded 3s and Gs with tails like this one.

Speed limit/no through road

Nothing new here besides the combination, but the no through road is painted on rather than raised or stuck on which I haven't seen before.

Would you drive along here? - Coppermine - 17415.jpg
Would you drive along here?

It seems odd to find that this is both a one-way street and a no through road; is there a heap of cars at the end unable to return?

Well, no. In fact the sign is not really inaccurate. I'll leave anyone who is interested to drive down Green Road, Poole (SZ014905) to discover the truth!

Single track road, going nowhere. Is 40 the legal limit, or is it 60? No chance of anyone breaking 40 to find out!
