Lifting section of Deeps Bridge This is a low bridge on trestles. It appears that there is provision for opening the short central section - but it looks as if it has not been raised recently.
Lifting mechanism, Deeps Bridge As the gap between the static section and lifting section has tarmac across it, the bridge cannot have been lifted recently. On the Internet there is an application http://www.epa.ie/licences/lic_eDMS/090151b28026d97f.pdf , concerning a biogas plant at the pig farm at Deeps, which includes installing hot water pipes across the bridge. So it seems that the lifting has been abandoned.
