Lighting at night
Urbis ZX2s and curvy columns at dusk, on the way from Bilston to Willenhall, West Midlands. I think the previous lanterns were Thorn Alpha 1s but don't know for definite.
Wolverhampton city centre. This is where the adult education centre is, outside the old Sainsbury's building.
Wolverhampton city centre. Here there appears to be a mixture of both sodium and cosmo lighting. This was the car-park for the old Sainsbury's building.
Philips Ml26 lantern on short side-street column. The starter light coming on. Featherstone, Staffordshire.
Coming off the M54 and on to the M6. The street lighting along the central reservation are now lit with Phosco P862 (LED) lanterns, and the sliproads are lit with Urbis Ampera Maxi (LED) lanterns. The prievious lanterns along the central reservation were WRTL MRL6s and Philips Iridium 2s (both HPS lanterns), and the sliproads used to be Philips MA60s (LPS).
Photo from 2018. Advanced Clipped lantern in Featherstone, South Staffs. The only one in the village that isn't post-top.
Back in 2019, Urbis Ampera Maxi lanterns lighting the M54. Originally the lights down this stretch of motorway were Philips MA60s.
Philips MA60s along the A460 in Featherstone, starting the warm up. It looks as if they're going to make it into 2021 at least, but don't know for how much longer after that.
Old 8m Stewart & Lloyd street lights with Philips MA90s at night. These lanterns still wouldn't have been the originals. This is on Sandford Street in Lichfield.
Philips MA60 lit up and viewed from underneath. You can see that the lamp looks odd as it is a shorter size than normal.
