M27 Junction 12

Travelling eastwards (away from the camera), the first slip-road takes traffic to the northern Portsmouth suburbs of Paulsgrove and Cosham, while the second slip-road (visible beyond the bridge) gives motorists the choice of turning south on the M275 towards Portsmouth city, or continuing along the coast towards Chichester and Brighton.

Many only use the left lane for the M3 in summer, because they can't read, causing long tailbacks. Widening to 4 lanes from J3 to here commences in Feb 2008.
