M49 southbound from M4
The M49 southbound from the M4 J22 towards the M5 J18a. Not much traffic uses this road, which probably explains why it is only 2 leanes in each direction. Photo taken on a Sunday evening in summer.

It's been a while since I have been on SABRE. So, I present my fantasy map series called 'Roadway What-Ifs'
This series is based on roads if they were constructed differently than in our timeline. For the first entry, this is 'What if the Prince of Wales Bridge (Second Severn Crossing) was constructed to carry westbound traffic going into Wales?' The only changes are that the M4 still follows the route of the M48 and the M49, despite being a shortcut to get to Bristol and the M5 motorway, it follows the northern sections of the A403 before heading onto its existing route that was constructed in 1996. Two new junctions are constructed on the M49 motorway to serve the villages of Redwick, Pilning and Severn Beach
