M60 J13 taken in Oct 2001

This picture was taken before the rules on speed camera visibility were ratified when various police forces had their own colour schemes for painting Gatsos. This example is in roadworks when the very short lived striped livery was applied. The standard plain yellow reflective backs were used soon after and continue to this day.

These signs, on the clockwise carriageway at J3-4, are considered confusing by some motorists, who end up cutting across the tiger-tails, etc. Why does this happen when this sign clearly points out the lanes...?

Slightly different from all of the winter themed pictures. It shows the M60 under construction anti-clockwise at junction 23 (Ashton).

M60 j26 Bredbury interchange

It's been a while since we've had a night (or even dusk) shot. Here's one taken over a couple of minutes last month, and blended together from 10 or 20 pictures.

Note that it has thumbnailed poorly - it's better at a reasonable size.

Were not actually on the M60 yet, and we're getting this sign - are we allowed to join the sliproad if we're not in a bus?

It's the very first bit to the M66 to be 'finished'. It doesn't seam to end at an island though just a T junction with the A576? Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Apr 04, 2005 by Mediaman_12

M602 Eccles Worsley Improvement - Coppermine - 11362.jpg
M60/M62/M602 Eccles Worsley Improvement

The main problem here is although the existing junction is a full freeflow, it's radii are much too tight and the main flow of traffic has to TOTSO. There's also the problem of weaving between J12 and J13. To overcome this the main traffic flow needs to cut the corner and so the M62-M60 North TOTSO is removed. J12 now only needs 3 of the 4 turning movements providing and extra slips remove the weaving between here and J13. Simple eh?

The stretch between Stockport and the M67 can be seen numbered as the M66. It also has an unbuilt spur. Also note the A6144(M) under construction. Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Nov 06, 2005 by DavidBrown

M62 Manchester This map shows a planned M601 heading south into Manchester from between the current M60 J16/J17. Now the M602 numbering makes more sense?????
