Gallery:Milton Keynes
Back in the early 80's, some bright spark had the idea to have the areas of Milton Keynes on the road signs with their MK postcode, but it confused many and eventually they were all replaced. Except for a couple, this double roundabout is on the old A5, now known as V4 Watling Street..as you approach it from the H3 Monks Way. Not sure how much longer this and the other sign will stay as signs around town are being replaced, so here they are for posterity! Here is the other old style Mk road sign, pointing up the old A5 towards Stony Stratford.

Sitting at the crossroads between Loughton and Shenley, this sign still stands, helpfully pointing the direction the capital and helpfully, giving you the distance. The man in the picture who was working on the house was slightly bemused by me taking pictures...I was tempted to say 'Don't worry Sir, I am from SABRE...', but I didn't, missed opportunity there methinks!

This view was taken from the haven of peace that is the footpath and cycleway bridge through the middle of the roundabout.
Spotted after a bulk change of LED aspects... we're never afraid to experiment here in Milton Keynes!

Overstreet, or the V9, a typical grid road in Milton Keynes. Here it is heading North-north West between the grid squares (estates) of Downs Barn and Downhead Park.
Approaching the junction with Dansteed Way.
Approaching Crownhill Crematorium near the junction with Watling Street.
Taken from the bridge shown in SP8439 : Footbridge, Milton Keynes, showing Saxon Street arriving at the North Saxon roundabout, where it crosses Portway.
Once again Fulmer Street bending along between Childs Way and Chaffron Way - not reflected in the map at this scale... contrast this scene with the picture taken on 26 January 2009.
Superb weather front above the (Childs Way) single carriageway up the hill beyond the Shenley Roundabout.
The map doesn't show the extent of this bend along Fulmer Street between Childs Way and Chaffron Way. Nice Shot taken before the weather changed ... see 'The bend after snowfall'
Skirting the southern margins of the town. Approaching Malborough Street.
Not really a city although many residents refer to it as such, Milton Keynes has certainly got its fair share of roundabouts. This view is of Marlborough Street where it is crossed by Groveway at Simpson Roundabout.
