B9176 snow warning signs

VMS and fold out signs on the B9176 Struie Hill road to warn of when the snow gates are closed.

This road rises to 242m even though it starts at near sea level at either end of its 14 mile length which means some steep climbs and being very exposed at the summit makes it suceptable to snow in the winter.

Zebra Crossing warning sign - Coppermine - 3414.jpg
Zebra Crossing warning sign

These signs are either side of the zebra crossing on the A862 in the middle of Muir of Ord. I have not seen them elsewhere so wondered why they are considered necessary here? Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Sep 02, 2005 by J--M--B

In 2008 this sign was still there, but the zebra crossing had been replaced with a signalised crossing. In 2011 the sign had been removed. C2r November 2015
