Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Apr 24, 2008 by KevSLooking northbound from the Southwell Road bridge. Built in the early 90's on the route of a former railway line, this road was going to alleviate the pressure on the A140 Ipswich Road and eventually link up with the A47 Southern by-pass, providing a direct route into the city. Problem was though, it didn't quite go according to plan...
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Apr 23, 2008 by KevSLooking southbound from the same bridge. As can be seen, the road stops short of the next bridge, and from then on, the Lakenham Way footpath wends its way to the ring road. What was going to be a much needed new road has turned into an access road for Sainsbury's and a Norwich Union car park!

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Apr 16, 2005 by M4SimonThis is a map of Norfolk taken from Thomas Kitchin's 'The British Traveller' 1763. It was designed with stage coach travel in mind and was the first book of its kind (as far as I know). Unfortunatly I only have the map and notes from Norfolk. For a detailed version see the high resolution version (next photo)
