Start of the M2: The A2 splits three ways between the motorway, the A2 towards Strood and the A289 to Grain and the Medway Tunnel.

M2 1 - Junction 1
Approaching J1 with left lane filtering to brand new freeflow junction with A2 Rochester and A289 Gillingham and (A228) Grain. Before the upgrade this was where the 3 lane A2 became the 2 lane M2.

Initial design for the junction of M2, A2 and A289 Wainscott Bypass at Park Pale Interchange. This proposal was replaced in 1992 with the layout that was built in 1999.
