Statues on Petherton Bridge
These statues of a boy and a girl are thought to be 17th century and

are thought to be a memorial to two children drowned nearby.
They were on the old stone bridge which was replaced when the A303
was dualled about 35 years ago and they were placed in their present
position on the new bridge. They are on the river side of the bridge

with a flight of steps leading down to them.
