Originally taken back at the end of June, this picture of London Liverpool Street's departures board shows the chaos caused by a freight train derailment near to Bury St. Edmunds. The red lines across the top all show 'Delayed' except for the 1755 to Southend, which was cancelled altogether.

Some early evening summer sunshine bathes the A63 in a nice yellow/orange glow, as the North Tower for the Humber Bridge stands proud just around the corner - of which the A63 will snake its way underneath.

This is a more cropped version of my entry last month. I've now cropped off the rear view mirror at the top and the tax disc at the bottom to make for a less distracting picture. This was my first visit to the Scottish Highlands and I was glad to be a passenger so that I could capture stunning vistas such as this one.

Lets go back in time for this photo of the month. This was taken by me in 1985 and shows the M20/M25 Swanley Interchange without much traffic around. The photo was taken from the B2173 overbridge and shows the M20 running under the interchange. The unopened M25 (it would open the following February) through the junction serves as the horizon. This image was scanned from the original colour print.

This unusual roundabout can only be seen in the heart of the valley of the rocks in north Devon; the roundabout also appears on OS maps.
