A very peaceful place and a curious bridge as well with the eastern span different from the rest. Carries a lovely unclassfied road between the A29 and A283, a good way to skip out Pulborough as well.

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Feb 22, 2008 by Sunil_of_YoxleyPart of the A178 in Teeside, the Transporter bridge is nearly 100 years old and still in daily use (unless the winds are so strong it threatens to make the cradle act like a pendulum!)... a cyclist or pedestrian can cross it for only 50p, so it's worth the crossing. The bridge is regularly used for public stunts, and open days are also available. A brilliant sight and my favorite structure up north.
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Feb 23, 2008 by True YorkieDuring three weekends in Feb 2008 the old 1960's Thong Lane overbridge was demolished as part of the A2 Widening Works in Kent. This is the result of the first weekends work. The middle section is now missing revealing its sleek replacement behind. By March 2008 this bridge will be history; let it live a little longer on SABRE
