Greatham Bridge, West Sussex - Coppermine - 17023.jpg
Greatham Bridge, West Sussex

Greatham Bridge crossing the River Arun, West Sussex just east of Coldwaltham.

A very peaceful place and a curious bridge as well with the eastern span different from the rest. Carries a lovely unclassfied road between the A29 and A283, a good way to skip out Pulborough as well.

Take February 2008. Canon EOS 3, Velvia 50. Sigma 24mm lens.

Millau Bridge

Fantastic Millau Bridge on France and don't worry this will be my final nomination of a French picture in the photo of the month category for a long time.

Roundhill Tunnel

Taken on the unofficial Kent Roadtrip on 16 February 2007, with Tony (Brenley Corner) and Sarah (SarahJ). A good day, with this being one of the more unusual pics of the day, and a good test of my new camera.

The end of the tolls

The Forth Road Bridge tollbooths stand silently, closed to traffic for ever, as Scotland is now a toll-road free country.

Middlesbrough Transporter Bridge (night) - Feb 2008 - Coppermine - 17041.jpg
Middlesbrough Transporter Bridge (night) - Feb 2008

Part of the A178 in Teeside, the Transporter bridge is nearly 100 years old and still in daily use (unless the winds are so strong it threatens to make the cradle act like a pendulum!)... a cyclist or pedestrian can cross it for only 50p, so it's worth the crossing. The bridge is regularly used for public stunts, and open days are also available. A brilliant sight and my favorite structure up north.

A2 Widening Works - Thong Lane Bridge Demolition

During three weekends in Feb 2008 the old 1960's Thong Lane overbridge was demolished as part of the A2 Widening Works in Kent. This is the result of the first weekends work. The middle section is now missing revealing its sleek replacement behind. By March 2008 this bridge will be history; let it live a little longer on SABRE
