I quite like this, the light glowing on the brand new asphalt as the road snakes round. It's all part of a massive upgrading of the road, work still ongoing. Taken earlier this month.

The A34 at Heald Green near Stockport. A high standard section of new road that has been subjected to a 50 mph limit, enforced by the Gatso that is lurking just behind the red car.

Inside the tunnel - a bit blurry due to the slow exposure without flash, and the speed of the car, but with the red reflections on the walls from the rear lights, it looks sort of artistic!

On holiday in September 2001 and always enjoy the riverside at Bideford, it's distinctly photogenic. The dramatic sky helps silhouette this very pretty bridge.

Ok, it wasn't August - it was September 2003 and a job to Palermo. If you have never driven Switzerland you must ! It doesn't take long as its relatively small, the tolls are steep but the views are breathtaking - especially at night. Like being in a Plane... I have a run to Lucca in Northern Italy in September via the Mont Blanc so will get some more pics !

My first (self-)nomination for PotM. This is where traffic that has just been on the A13 mainline east of the tunnel joins the mainline of Aspen Way in London's Docklands. Although first constructed in 1995, it was westbound only for years until finally fully opening in December 2003.
