Gallery:Pre-Worboys Information Signs
This is the most westerly point of Great Britain's road network. Photo taken April 1991. Pre-warboys 'END of public road' sign. Private road carries on to the lighthouse. There are now traffic lights controlling the onward road.

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Feb 22, 2009 by DavidNW9Strictly not Pre-Worboys sign as the road number is incorporated in the street name, but there were two more separate ones along the road as well.
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Aug 17, 2009 by DavidNW9This was in such poor condition it took months to realise the font was pre-Worboys, as there's a much newer one on the opposite corner which isn't and confused the issue for a while. The narrow pitch and capital G give it away though despite the condition.
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Sep 02, 2009 by DavidNW9One of at least three variations of this type of sign used before adoption of modified Warboys-style direction signage in Ireland. Another variant has the old Bord Failte logo instead of the harp, while yet another (later) variant is the same style as the modern R-road type, but with the pre-Warboys font used. This example from Portmagee, Co Kerry.

A plate with LLANELWY on it has since been added, although Holywell is still untranslated.Nice example of a pre-Worboys 'Unsuitable For Motor Vehicles' sign on Cwm Lane near Church Stretton/A49.

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Jul 06, 2009 by DavidNW9Nothing new here besides the combination, but the no through road is painted on rather than raised or stuck on which I haven't seen before.

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Jun 19, 2009 by DavidNW9This is opposite the other one and a slightly thinner font. Lynwood Road under the A40
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Jun 11, 2009 by DavidNW9This is the plastic version of the metal sign with the smaller fonts designed to light up although none of the ones here did. There were three of each type but the third old one was broken.
