R115 Northbound North of Laragh

Originally built by the british, this is a military road from Dublin through the Wicklow mountains, built to allow troops to quash any rebelious activity about 1800. You can see the road is cut into the side of the valley and has retaining walls beneath it.

Sally Gap Sally Gap in the Wicklow Mountains at nearly 1,700 feet. This is where the "Military Road" (R115) crosses the R759. Both roads are frequently closed in winter.
