Bad Sign - Coppermine - 4739.JPG
Bad Sign

R121 nr. Clonsilla. This was a standard 4 exit roundabout until a few years ago when a one way system was introduced which prohibited traffic taking the first exit off this roundabout as seen. There is a 'no left turn' sign tacked under the 'yield' sign which I believe is a mistake. There are 'no entry' signs on the actual exit which is one-way and this is correct.

Example of a standard irish ADS for a roundabout. Notice that Ireland uses transport font for all non-motorway road numbers and ALWAYS uses motorway font for any motorway road number regardless of where the sign is located (in this case at least 2 miles from the M50). Interestingly, Ireland does not use motorway font on motorways at all except to indicate the number, direction signs on the motorway itself use transport! Almost exactly the opposite way to the UK!

These are equipped (unusually) with puffin detectors. Don't know if they work because they also have push buttons on some of the poles. Weird and messy installation. Possibly a test site?

Pelican crossing in Lucan

All british apart from the prisma technik pushbuttons (I like these as they have a tactile map of the crossing for blind people which tells them of any traffic islands/refuges in the crossing).
