R147
Doyle's Corner, north of Dublin city centre, is the intersection of two busy roads, the R135 (Phibsborough Road / North Circular Road, ahead and to the right) and the R147 (North Circular Road, to the left but not visible here)
Headfort Place, Kells. At the time this image was taken, Headfort Place was part of the N3 (Navan Road). With Kells now bypassed on two sides, this road is today part of the R147.
Old road signs at Cabra Cross, where motorists choose between the North Circular Road towards Dublin Port, or the Old Cabra Road through Stoneybatter to the city centre. Today, all traffic is directed towards the North Circular, to relieve Stoneybatter.
N3 slip road to the M50 Northbound
The overpass for the new city- and M50 south-bound is visible in the background.

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Oct 01, 2007 by odlumThe way the N3 used to go
In the days before the M50, the N3 ran like this. The path can now be followed only by peds as a footbridge completes the old route over the motorway. I can vaguely remember when the M50 Western Parkway was opened and it ended here (the Northen Cross had not yet opened) at a T junction with traffic lights!

M50/'M3' Interchange new looking Southeast
A different perspective. The canal and railway are in the middle. The 'M3' is toward the bottom of the image.

More old N3 signs at Phoenix Park station, including directions back on to the N3, and an exit that was never used.
Detailed lane designation signs outside what was Phoenix Park station, now Navan Road Parkway. Due to the station having a tiny catchment area (mostly undeveloped land), it has been mostly abandoned throughout the Coronavirus pandemic, despite the car park and booking hall being opened every day.
