North Wall Quay, Dublin - Coppermine - 5333.JPG
North Wall Quay, Dublin

These trucks should soon be banished from the city quays when they start using the Port Tunnel, thank God-they turn an otherwise lovely amenity into a smelly awful noisy place to be. Your coffee vibrates as lorries rumble by.

Cars parked on pedestrian crossing on North Wall Quay Dublin

How appalling! Some foolish idiots had parked their cars on this pedestrian crossing making an obstruction for pedestrians in their way also causing problems for wheelchair/scooter users. The council is to blame for failing to paint zig-zag markings to push the message into these idiots' brains that they must never park their cars on crossings.

New Wapping St/North Wall Quay Dublin 1

Sign pointing to one of the terminals. This whole area will be unrecognisable in a few years so I thought I should get some pics!

North Wall Quay, Dublin 1

Sign directing travellers towards the port. The building behind is a former railway station of the Midland and Great Western Railway of Ireland! and a fine building it is too. It's listed and may form one of the entrances to a new underground system station which is planned for construction c 2010.

Newish lamp standards along the city quays in the docklands. A far cry from a few years ago!

Custom House Quay ADS with river.jpg
A strange use of a river symbol at the start of Dublin's one-way system, outside Custom House Quay. In fact all together it's a strange ADS, including a list of road numbers which looks like a bingo card.
Samuel Beckett Bridge viewed from the east.jpg
A nice day over the Samuel Beckett Bridge in Dublin's docklands, viewed from the Tom Clarke Bridge.
Dublin Outer Orbital J80.jpg
The sign for J80 of the Dublin Outer Orbital, on Samuel Beckett Bridge.
Dublin Outer Orbital former J79.jpg
An old sign for J79 of the Dublin Outer Orbital, on North Wall Quay. It's so old, it totally misses that the M50 is now on the left.
Dublin Port sign on North Wall Quay.jpg
A sign for Dublin Port Terminal 3 on North Wall Quay.
Georges Dock Bridge.jpg
George's Dock Lifting Bridge, with the additional footpaths alongside.
