Gallery:Regulatory Sign/No Entry
A pretty good replica in North Finchley
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Sep 04, 2009 by DavidNW9I found this recently at my local library car park and have just finished painting it. Far better now, isn't it.

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Oct 11, 2009 by SDLMy research has only found one other of these since the pair were removed at Pinewood Studios, and although the paint has long worn off the words can be seen in relief. It is at the entry to the library car park in Christchurch Avenue.

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on May 14, 2006 by DavidBI only just found this was not a private issue as I found an original photo taken of a pair of these in Wormwood Street in central London. I'd never seen one myself but clearly a rarer alternative to the familiar red circles.
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Nov 29, 2009 by DavidNW9This is on an actual road although looked like a private estate. Half the signs on it are pre-Worboys although like this some added new ones underneath them.
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Jun 23, 2009 by DavidNW9Barnet Council had the good sense to stick on the extra information on a standard no entry sign themselves to increase the chances of people taking notice. The government may disapprove of them but on private roads the story is different.
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Jul 09, 2009 by DavidNW9No idea of the reason behind this, although a number of other signs had suffered the same treatment
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Sep 13, 2008 by PeterA5145This strange no-entry sign is on a small link between two carparks in Minehead.
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on May 31, 2006 by M5LenzarFairly clear evidence of its origins here.
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Jul 03, 2009 by SteveA30At the exit to a block of flats in St Johns Wood. As it was made in the pre-Worboys style and era they should have used a genuine one as facing a public road.

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Apr 14, 2005 by t1(M)Queen Elizabeth Road in Kingston. In this direction it's no entry except to cyclists, who have a height limit of 10'9' imposed on them
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on May 12, 2005 by t1(M)The markings are wrong, the lanes are too narrow for two cyclists to pass. The refuge is not illuminated. There are no warning signs for drivers to be alerted of contraflow cycle lanes.
Also how is a cyclist meant to make the double 90 degree turn shown in the markings?
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Apr 20, 2009 by Bryn666I had to photo it :-)

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Apr 14, 2005 by t1(M)A forest of 'no entry' signs on St Philip's Road, Cambridge (looking W from Thoday St). This is only a small fraction of the total number on this street.
The street is effectively one-way for motor traffic with a cycle contraflow. However, for some reason it isn't explicitly signed as such - it's theoretically two-way between the junctions, hence the need for no-entry signs at each of the junction 'plugs'. Complete waste.

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Oct 21, 2006 by chrlaskThe street ahead is no-entry. So that traffic coming from the side street can see, the no-entry sign is bent around. Not convinced this adds much but it's quite fun.
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Sep 03, 2007 by TomThe street to the right is no-entry. So that traffic coming from the side street can see, the no-entry sign is bent around. Not convinced this adds much but it's quite fun. Also note standard one way sign, and parking restrictions.
