Ringwood
A31 and A338 slips, making a D4 for a short distance.
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Oct 29, 2007 by SteveA30A31 road widening and bridge replacement 2020-22 Aerial. The replaced bridge is the middle of the three seen in this photo. It carries the A31 westbound traffic. The new bridge occupies the same position as the earlier, narrower, concrete bridge that it replaces. The very old stone bridge in the foreground was originally the only bridge over the River Avon, but had not been used for A31 traffic since the Ringwood bypass was built in the 1960s.
