I recon this is worse than the Hindead bit. My reason is becasue this was planned to be a on grade roundabout. The hindhead bit is left over from the old days.

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on May 07, 2007 by SteveA30Westerly view from what was the B4462 overbridge looking towards the roundabout junction where the A452 ends and the westbound on slip at junction 14 goes left whilst the eastbound off slip is straight ahead. This stretch used to be the A41 before the M40 was built and continued along what was the off slip to Longbridge. The road was then renumbered to A452 in connection with keeping through traffic to the motorway. 30 May 2008
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on May 31, 2008 by leekmanDating from at least the 1960's, this is a good layout, designed for this specific location, rectangular, with straight sides on the east and west sides and easy wide exits. Unlike today's standard off the shelf products, identical in shape -circular- and, only varying in size, with tight deflections at exits, especially for lorries.

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Jul 21, 2007 by Sunil_of_YoxleyJoining the A38. This was just a T junction in the old days, becoming a rbt when the link to the Marsh Barton area was added much later.
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Jul 17, 2009 by SteveA30Standing roughly in the same area, the old A30 more or less followed the off-slip here and then, the on-slip opposite. The corner of the crossroads is about the only point of reference in the two. The D2 is up on the right, soaring over the lot.
