'Ring of Steel' - Former A4208 St Bride Street
In Dec 03 the 'Ring of Steel' was extended to that part of the City of London west of Farringdon Street. This is St Bride Street, taken from the Farringdon Street end, looking north-west. Note that there are two sets of concrete barriers. The red plate on the signpost reads 'no left turn into St Bride Street from 20 Dec 2003, enquiries phone 020.........' The white plate reads 'except buses and cycles' It would be a strange bus that could negotiate that barrier - it is in fact a relic from an earlier scheme

A4 fading queue 2/8/09
I soon caught up with it though. These are the unlucky ones. Traffic that was behind them is now whizzing along the M4 and will be way ahead by the time this lot get back there. No way around it though, someone has to be last. You could relax at Chieveley but, only if you know when the M4 will reopen. 6 hours in this case. It is a matter of timing and, luck.

09 Edgeworthstown bypass
Just opened last week (June 2006), the single-carriageway 3 km relief route around the west of the town of Edgeworthstown takes most traffic out of the town centre. Only Cavan-bound traffic still needs to enter the town.
