Previously Kemsley House, and later Maxwell House, Thomson House (photographed here in November 1977) was a major headquarters for printing national and local newspapers. The building, situated at the corner of Withy Grove and Corporation Street, closed in 1986 and remained derelict until 1998, when work started on converting it to an entertainment venue The Printworks, which opened in 2000.
