A27 Segensworth Roundabout

Looking from the Barnes Wallis Road access. This section of road will be converted into a one-way street for traffic leaving the roundabout. Traffic joining the Segensworth Roundabout will have to use the reopened Witherbed Lane link and join from Segensworth Road at a set of traffic lights.

A27 Southampton Road, Segensworth, Fareham - Coppermine - 11086.JPG
A27 Southampton Road, Segensworth, Fareham

Looking westbound towards the Segensworth Roundabout. Note the white patch on the sign. Underneath it reads 'A3051 Botley', but Whiteley Way hasn't been completed yet, and won't be any time soon, so A3051 traffic must continue along the A27 and then turn right when it reaches a roundabout in Park Gate, and then pass through Burridge.

Optimistic Esso map - Coppermine - 11120.jpg
Optimistic Esso map

A zoomed in view of the mid-1980s Esso Motor-Map showing the unbuilt M27 Jct 6, visible just below the airport. If built the junction would have actually been slightly east of where it is actually shown, although it was never built at all, so the map is wrong in both ways. Fantastic Stainton hockeysticks - Coppermine - 11118.jpg
Fantastic Stainton hockeysticks

A typical late-1980s or early-1990s Stainton hockeystick installation on the Segensworth Roundabout; 10m unpainted columns fitted with geared Philips MA50s. These have got to be some of the best looking columns of all time.
