Taken by MSA Johnny
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Sep 30, 2005 by LewisTaken Sunday 20th April 2008 from Mill Hill overbridge looking down on the A27/A283 interchange, the Shoreham 'Flyover'.
Opened in 1970 replacing the old single track toll bridge over the River Adur which you can see in the mid-ground.
Eventually connected to the A27 Brighton by-pass in 1996 making this part of a longer distance route.
In the distance is the South Downs and Lancing, Worthing.

Lancing College now really stands out.

The point where the old A27 crossed the A283 at Shoreham, after crossing the River Adur.

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Oct 16, 2006 by andy31mapproaching the shoreham flyover. this is abit like gravely hill junction with the M6. lots off bends on the slip roads. come off here for some very old & nice villages & an old cement factory thats been empty for atleast 15 years. also just to the right is shoreham airport. the oldest airport in the world
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Oct 16, 2006 by andy31mThese were very large photos in the foyer of Shoreham Airport terminal. The old A27 can be clearly seen. It rejoins the newer road at those rather annoying traffic lights that ruin the otherwise freeflow section.
