Maximum and minimum speed limits are indicated after each on-ramp. The sign behind them informs drivers of the rumble strip on the white line between the hard shoulder and the carriageway.

Welcome to the M8
I don't like the route confirmation sign -- what's the bets that countless UK road atlases will call this stretch the 'M8 (toll)'? I think they would have been better to use a standard motorway route confirmation sign, and place 'Toll' on a separate plate below.

N2 Finglas - Ashbourne northern section
Heading south, shortly after the improved section starts, we get a route confirmatory/distance sign, and those speed limit signs in the distance show a 120 km/h limit -- on of the first (if not the first) use of 120 km/h on a non-motorway. Note the very narrow central reservation. Apologies for the blur, but the light was fading fast.

A1 at the border
The speed limit signs and change in hard shoulder are the only giveaway. Not a single 'Welcome to...' sign visible.
