Small 30 MPH limit sign on A857 - Coppermine - 12095.jpg
Small 30 MPH limit sign on A857 - The A857 into Stornoway from the West coast has three (four?) warnings of the 30 mph limit which use full size 30 MPH roundels but the final sign at the start of the 30 mph limit only has a small 30 mph limit roundel. Is this legal? MB

Short speed limit signs? - Coppermine - 16477.jpg
Short speed limit signs?

I was asking about the height of speed limit signs. The one in the centre of the dual carriageway always seem very low down to me and I can't see any obvious reason why it should be so low.

Big yellow reminder - Coppermine - 3385.jpg
Big yellow reminder

This sign greets outbound traffic heading out of Southampton on the A3024 just after Northam Bridge. It serves its purpose yet irritates drivers at the same time, due to a 40mph limit being more reasonable. The bushes are trying their best to obscure the sign.

It's only two C roads in Woodchurch in Kent but it's textbook persprective and would look great across the top banner of SABRE. Well, that's what I think!!

Approaching Whitchurch
It is not clear from the picture that the footpath is much higher than the road, which is quite a steep hill downwards. The road narrows where that car is approaching, with just a single car-width and very narrow pavement between the first buildings of Whitchurch. The Thames path goes off on that track to the right.

Spot what's wrong with this sign? In fact it would probably be easier to say what's right about it!

The bridge crosses the North Kent railway line. There seems to be confusion over the speed limit at this point, with 30mph / 20mph signs at opposite sides of the road! There are also signs for the London Cycle Network.
