Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Apr 23, 2006 by murphaphas well as widening the N4 to D3H at this location it will grade separate this junction (R120) by trenching the N4 (like the westlink at Grosvenor Road) and constructing an overbridge for the R120 which should stay roughly at the same level. Site clearance just started. All these mellors will be no more.

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Jan 23, 2008 by DorsetWayThe towns of Passage East and Ballyhack (as well as Co Waterford and Co Wexford) are connected across Waterford Harbour by a small car ferry as the drive around would take well over an hour, much more with traffic in Waterford City!
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Apr 23, 2006 by murphaphHeading southbound, we approach the TOTSO for the N9/N10 split at Paulstown. Trucks for Waterford are directed via Kilkenny and the N10, presumably to avoid the narrow streets of Thomastown, which lies further south on the N9. Since February 2012 the roads concerned have been reclassified as the R448 (pictured here, about to TOTSO left) and the R712.

The colour of the village/town nameplate should reflect the road status, in this case a primary route so it's green. Note the contractor has marked the village streets incorrectly and it looks british with that continuous white line at the edges of the carriageway!
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Apr 17, 2006 by murphaphOk, so not strictly speaking a national route, but the village name sign gives the false impression that it is! View taken facing south with N7 running parallel over that wooden fence. These new local link roads provide loveley quiet stress free links between the villages and towns along the N7 where previously the main road was the link!
