Note the contraflow on the right hand side where a third lane is being added both ways in preparation for the new M9 spur. The new plaza is now in use after months of toll closures causing longer tailbacks.

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Aug 04, 2009 by AAndyAdvertising sign posted by Solihull Council on the B4102 Kenilworth Road Hampton in Arden eastern side of the town proposing the 'standard' revised national speed limit. In fairness to the Council at least they are making their intentions fairly visible. There are more of these littered around the Balsall Common area and are a result of their speed limit review no doubt.

A new sign on the NDLR at Tiverton reminding drivers of their speed limits. For a substantial percentage of drivers, this is the first single carriageway road in their journey for several hunderad miles.
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Sep 12, 2009 by DavidBrownyes, it used to be 40 (if the burned-off marks on the road are to be believed) but it's now 50!

A plethora of road signs and markings warn road users of the crossroads that has become an accident black-spot and has sadly claimed many lives over the years. The image is taken from the B5234 Abbots Bromley to Burton upon Trent road, looking towards Needwood. The A515 Lichfield to Ashbourne road crosses right to left. At the junction, the view right towards Lichfield is reasonable. However, the view left towards Ashbourne is not clear until the road user is right on the junction, due to the acute angle of the roads and even then, visibility is further reduced by the traffic from the left approaching at speed down a short, steep hill. Vicar's Hill Farm can be clearly seen on the skyline.
Sign on motorway. What's with the no stopping anywhere zone, though?

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Dec 18, 2005 by MSAJohnnyHeading northeastward away from Gallows Corner. This is a Roman Road, which makes sense given that Colchester was the Roman 'Camulodunum'. South of the roundabout, the Roman route continues south and west towards Romford and Ilford as the A118, the original A12 before the Eastern Avenue was built in the 1920s.
