Gallery:Speed limit sign/80 km/h
Presumably the 80 km/h limit will be lifted when the Kinnegad - Kilbeggan scheme opens. In the distance, an 'end of motorway 500 metres' sign is visible.

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Aug 01, 2005 by IJP1Dreadful at grade junction in west Dublin. This is looking southbound with westbound traffic on the N4 crossing left->right. It is the ONLY at grade junction on the N4/M4 west of the M50 all the way to Kinnegad (soon to be Kilbeggan). It is planned to GS this junction and not a moment too soon. The Friday evening tailbacks towards Dublin are chronic. The GSJ has been designed and should proceed soon. It will entail sinking the N4 into a trench and briging that trench at this point.

Originally uploaded to Coppermine on May 02, 2006 by murphaphThere is currently a 14 km gap in the dual carriageway between the end of the Rathnew bypass and the start of the Arklow bypass. Plans are well advanced for construction, and the CPOs have been served, but unfortunately there has been no word yet as to funding. Expected (hoped) construction start is sometime in 2007.

(Added by Viator:) It says "(Road)works. Thank you for your patience."In the 'old' days there'd be an NSL sign here!
Originally uploaded to Coppermine on Apr 23, 2006 by murphaphM50 NB traffic merges in on the extreme left. This merging lane has recently been extended under the pedestrian bridge this photo was taken from. Previously the merge was more sudden, as the left-hand lane had to avoid the bridge.
