A12 (former) at Copdock - XI
Looking back along the exit road road (former n/b carriageway) from the point where it merges with the new alignment (now A1214), seen on the extreme left of the picture. The building is on the alignment of the old s/b carriageway.

'Pillar of Salt' direction sign, Angel Hill, Bury Saint Edmunds, Suffolk. Thought to be the first internally illuminated road sign in the country. Designed by Basil Oliver, 1935.
