The Swazi MR1 links a regional South African route to the capital Mbabane via Piggs Peak. This is the best way to enter from Mozambique by car. An 80kph limit is general in the country, and fair enough on this slow but scenic route.

Swaziland's MR3 will become an outstanding piece of construction. Linking the Swazi capital both to the border with South Africa (towards Ermelo and Jo'burg) and with the main hotel route towards the inner town of Manzini, the section near the border (here, eastbound towards Mbabane) is already freeway standard, with the section beyond Mbabane (to the east) already dual. The Mbabane bypass is being built by blast construction into the mountain currently.
